Rolando J. Tremont Brito, MSEE
Founder & CEO
Rolando Tremont-Brito serves as the Chief Executive Officer of NexGenGrid. With a robust background in power and energy systems, he specializes in the design and optimization of microgrids, emphasizing resilience and energy justice. Rolando completed both his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez, in 2021 and 2023, respectively.
Previously, Rolando contributed to research at Sandia National Laboratories and the University Ana G. Mendez – Gurabo, where he developed microgrid solutions tailored for both rural and urban communities. As the founder of NexGenGrid, Rolando drives the company forward with a clear vision to transform the energy landscape through innovative, sustainable solutions.
Rachid Darbali-Zamora, PhD
CTO
Rachid Darbali-Zamora serves as the Chief Technology Director at NexGenGrid. He earned his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez in 2013 and 2016, respectively. Rachid further advanced his expertise by completing a Ph.D. in Energy Engineering at the same institution in 2019. He currently enriches future engineers as an adjunct professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez.
With a distinguished research background that includes positions at Sandia National Laboratories, Argonne National Laboratory, Ohio State University, University of Dayton Research Institute, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Rachid brings over seven years of extensive experience in the energy sector. At NexGenGrid, he spearheads consulting efforts in microgrid design and technology, leveraging his deep industry knowledge to drive innovation and sustainability.
